I used to be so angry about politics, and what was going on in the world. I just knew that my view on the world was the right view, and I couldn't understand how anyone could not come to the same conclusions on life that I had. Eventually I grew to hate those who disagreed with me, and I dismissed them with utter contempt. Because if they were so wrong about some things, how could they be right about anything else? And weren't they actively opposing making the world a better place? But it didn't do anyone any good to feel this way, it only made me bitter and spiteful, and caused me to dismiss people over a few little issues when we might actually like each other otherwise. And it doesn't really matter what any of us thinks, the world will unfold how it may and none of us are truly worthy of directing the course of history alone. That doesn't mean that I know longer have opinions, or that I now believe I'm wrong. But we should try to work past the hate and the vitriol that surrounds politics and learn to work together, because it doesn't help anyone to shut your hearts to your neighbours.
